Project Accountant in Accounting Jobs

 The Company

This joint venture, comprising some of Australia’s most respected engineering businesses, has been selected for the delivery of a major civil engineering infrastructure project spanning the next three years.  As the tender process is not formally complete, further details in relation to this project will be made available to short-listed candidates. 

The Role

This role will involve extensive consultation across the project management team and with the joint venture parties.  The successful candidate will be responsible for a broad range of the joint venture’s finance and administration matters including:

• Monthly reporting
• A proactive approach to identifying, analysing and initiating solutions to issues or opportunities
• Oversight to accounts payable and administrative staff
• Annual external audit
• Promotion of and compliance with joint venture agreed policies and procedures.

Key Skills

A key element in the successful execution of this role will be the informal and “hands on” approach adopted by the close knit project leadership team.  The successful candidate for this role will bring an ability to manage a broad range of tasks and form strong and effective working relationships with project staff, joint venture executives and external stake holders.

• At least 5 years finance related experience post university graduation.
• Experience in construction contract management
• CPA / CA preferred
• Construction or engineering industry experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to convey information clearly.
• Strong work ethic.
• Good knowledge of and experience with accounting systems and Microsoft Office software programs. 

The Offer

$80,000 - $130,000 package depending on experience.
